BRINGING THEM BACK ONE SONG AT A TIME™

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Operation Song® empowers veterans, active-duty military members, and their families to tell their stories through the process of songwriting. Those we serve need no musical or writing skills, only a willingness to share their stories and, with the help of professional songwriters, transform them into song.

Storytelling:
Participants share their military or family experiences, which can range from World War II to current conflicts.

Collaboration:
Professional songwriters work with individuals or groups to craft these stories into songs, requiring no prior musical skill from the veteran.

Healing:
The process provides order, perspective, and validation, helping them manage emotions and create a lasting testament to their journey.

1000 Islands Harbor Hotel – 2024

April 2013, the New York North Country Troopers Assisting Troops (NYNCTAT) was formed by a group of New York State Troopers in collaboration with U.S. military members. The mission of this group is to raise local and regional awareness, as well as to provide local recreational activities and events for Fort Drum service members and other Armed Forces Members that were wounded, injured, or became ill while protecting our freedom and country.
